The Insulspan SIP system consists of a solid, one-piece pre-cut SIP that is ready to install as wall roof or floor components. Insulspan SIPs provide green building solutions that reduce energy usage, take less time to install, and provide an air tight thermal envelope for a healthy sustainable structure. SIPs are commonly used for floor and wall applications.
There are five sizes of SIP panel:
4 ½” SIP = R15
6 ½” SIP = R22.6
8 ¼” SIP = R29.2
10 ¼” SIP = R36.8
12 ¼” SIP = R44.4
The Insulspan SIP system is an excellent building choice for community projects. From their design capabilities to their superior structural strength, using SIPs is a great way to build a unique community project. Whether they are being used for a church, school, museum, or community center, SIPs provide an airtight, energy efficient structure that will save money for years to come.
As cities grow and infill redevelopment occurs, accessory dwelling units (ADUs) have become very popular for homeowners looking to expand their space. Insulspan’s ADUs are perfect for multi-generational families who want to live together while still maintaining their own private spaces or to use as a rental unit. Additionally, Insulspan offers SIP structure plans for sheds, detached garages, pool houses, weekend cabins. Every SIP project benefits from the same level of energy efficiency, faster build times, and increased R-values of the Insulspan SIP system.
For a higher R-value without the added thickness to the SIP, we have developed the Insulspan R-Plus System. Using the Enerspan insulation made with Neopor, the R-Plus SIPs create a higher efficiency thermal envelope without the extra inches.
4 1/2" R-Plus SIP = R18.3
6 1/2" R-Plus SIP = R27.7
8 1/4" R-Plus SIP = R35.9
10 1/4" R-Plus SIP = R45.3
12 1/4" R-Plus SIP = R54.7
The nailbase panel was developed for applications where you don’t need the SIP for structural reasons but still need a high quality energy efficient building solution. With the EPS foam core available in multiple thicknesses, the nailbase panel has only one side of OSB laminated to it, creating a finished face. Nailbase panels are an excellent energy efficient and sustainable solution for walls or roofs where structural support is not needed.
The Insulspan SIP system provides more benefits than just a high performing thermal envelope. When using SIPs for the entire thermal envelope, homes perform 50% to 70% better than the Model Energy Code. Additionally, the HVAC system can be downsized due to the air-tightness of the home, you receive improved air quality, and an overall higher level of comfort.
The Insulspan SIP System offers many benefits when building multi-family structures, including duplexes, townhomes, condominiums, or apartments. Building the project happens faster when using SIPs. And, residents will enjoy increase comfort and lower energy bills.
The Insulspan SIP System is an excellent sustainable and efficient product for commercial construction. Not only will the end result be a tight, energy efficient structure that will use less energy, but the time and labor required to install the system is less than conventional construction.
Whether you are building new or renovating an existing agricultural building, Insulspan SIPS are a cost effective, high performing building envelope solution. The structural strength of SIPs facilitates the spanning of large spaces without the need for posts which may interfere with your space. In addition, the increased energy efficiency and tight thermal envelope created with the SIPs reduce the energy needed to heat and cool large spaces. With fast installation and less labor requirements, construction won’t interfere with the busy season.
